Sorry I haven't been posting at all lately. This pregnancy is kicking my butt. I have been naueaus all day and night. It's been awful. The burping, gas, constipation, heartburn - ALL starting so early!!! YUCK! Not making this a very happy surprise!! :P
I had my first appointment at 6 1/2 weeks and got all my blood taken and whatnot. He wouldn't do an u/s because he didn't think he'd be able to see much. Said to wait two more weeks. :P So I recently had another appt at 8 1/2 weeks and did get my u/s to finally confirm this pregnancy! There's only ONE baby!!! YAY!!! It was right on track and we saw the heartbeat just beating away. Amazing. I broke down because I was feeling very sentimental that the last time I looked at an u/s machine, I was looking at my twins and waiting for them to arrive. I can't believe that was 4 years ago. Anyway. . .
The doctor did give me some Zofran to help with the nausea and it's been AWESOME! Now I just deal with the exhaustion and that's not as bad. I feel like I'm in a slow running movie and tire easily, but that's better then the nausea.
It's been pretty stressful around here tho. On top of me not feeling well, hubby has had some medical problems. He was sent to the ER last week because his left side went numb. We thought it was a stroke, but it turns out it could be seizures. They still don't really know at this point in time. He's still having a LOT of tests done. But he wanted to be ok enough for his brothers wedding on 9/23. The kids did great and so did he. I managed thru all my yuckiness. Hubby and I did manage to talk my mom into coming out to help us. Right now hubby can't really drive and we needed the help. Max's nephrotic syndrome has come back and I need to get him to the doctor and start him on that horrible toxic drug. :( It's just been one thing after another. But thank goodness my mother is here to help out physically and emotionally. I'd be lost w/o her.
The kids also started school on 9/12. They started out liking it and I had really high hopes that the teachers would just rave about them. Little did I know how that opinion would change. My two definitely didn't need preschool for the academic part of it, but just to learn how to take turns, transition from one thing to another and follow directions. All of which they are having issues with. I can't believe it. I never thought that would be an issue. But I guess that's why they are really in school, right? Max is having more problems then Emily, but I think that's due to more outside issues then anything. Their tempers have been flaring non-stop lately and I hope this stage is over soon. It's almost intolerable. I love my kiddos tho and sometimes I feel this pregnancy is affecting more then I'd like to think. They know I'm not feeling so well and things are different. They know their daddy has been sick and now nana is here. It's all so crazy. And now the holidays are slowly creeping upon us. *sigh*
Like everything else tho, time will tell and in time things will work themselves out. Only 3+ weeks to go and maybe I won't have to worry about morning sickness and I can go back to enjoying my kiddos again.
