I feel guilty through all this time I haven't mentioned Max & Em. They've gone through so much as well and I haven't spoken on what's gone on with them. So here's my big update on them. :)
Max: Well he's been on Cytoxan for 2 months now and has handled it VERY nicely. He has relapsed at all *knock on wood* even through mild food poisoning and a head cold. He's also on the prednisone, but seems to be doing ok with that as well. We just had another appt with his Nephrologist today and she thinks he's doing great and hopes he keeps it up! His last dose of the cytoxan is Jan 1st and his last dose of prednisone is Jan 17th. (assuming he doesn't get sick up to that point - cuz we'll then continue the prednisone a little longer) Then we go from there and see how he does. I know I'll be keeping my fingers crossed tight!! He was 37 lbs and 39" at this appt. He lost 2 lbs from his last appt (mostly water weight) and only a 1/2 lb from his 3 yr appt. So I think he's doing well! Emily was 34 lbs and 38 1/2". (I asked if I could check her too just for my own curiosity hehe)
He hasn't missed a day of school yet *knocks on wood again* and is actually doing much better these days then early on. He's very much a flirt too! I've found that he has a lot of little girls already hanging all over him and dragging him around the playground. It's VERY cute! LOL
He has a fiery temper right now tho. He knows how to push my buttons. He's very much into daddy and when he gets in trouble with me, he goes crying to daddy that mommy is a meanie. :P Drives me nuts! We were also having major problems with him and Em at bedtime, so we finally split them up. One will sleep in my room and one sleeps in their room. So far it's been working ok.
He loves writing and has mastered his name, mommy, daddy and Emily. He loves building things too. Tinker toys, legos, and even puzzles. He loves 'em. Now if we could get him not to be so frustrated if he can't do something easily. He is sooo looking forward to xmas! He is soo into all the holidays. Especially Halloween and Christmas. He loves all the decorations and lights. Oh and of course all the presents. Can't believe it's a week and a half away. He'll be in heaven then! :)
Emily: Emily has done good through all the stress that has gone on in the last few months. She's my laid back trooper. I know she's been affected, but she doesn't show it or act out or anything. She is bothered when her brother teases her all the time tho. LOL She LOVES school, her teachers and all her friends. But mostly she loves having a JOB at school! They have 14 kids in the class and only 7 jobs. So they switch off from week to week. The weeks she doesn't have a job, she is HORRIBLE getting into class. She just crumbles to the ground and pouts. It's cute and annoying all at the same time. I've tried to have jobs at home, but it's just not the same. The weeks she does have a job, she keeps telling me to say "Did you have a job Emily? Did you? Did you??" Then she answers all excitedly and jumps up and down. Makes me laugh every time. She has her own set of boys that follow her around the school yard as well. How do they learn this stuff so young?! LOL
Emily loves to dress up, wear pretty dresses and shoes now. Getting to be more girly lately! She LOVES to read tho and is doing amazingly well. Even words I'm not sure she knows, she comes out and reads them to me! She as an amazing memory, as does Max, but they both have great memories but in different ways. She never ceases to amaze me! She's definitely a mama's girl too. Whereas Max is a daddy's boy, she prefers my company. I guess that's the bonus of having b/g twins. You at least get one child who loves ya bestest (even if just for a little while!)! hehe!
