Then of course Christmas was upon us and I was sooo behind on getting gifts this year. It should teach me to be more organized and get presents out sooner, cuz I know I spent WAAAY to much on shipping presents. Max and Emily LOVED seeing all the lights and decorations out though. We must have gone around our neighborhood a million times to see all the cool decorations. It was worth it to see my two happy.
They also went to see Santa.
They both wanted to, but once we got there it was another story. Max was gung ho, but wanted Emily to come with him. Emily was content to stay far away and just watch him. Luckily Max and I were able to coerce her to sit on his lap. This is the picture we got. You can see Emily was just not so sure. LOL But that's all they talked about thereafter! ;)They also looked forward to Santa coming to give them presents, tho I'm not sure they fully understood just yet. On Christmas morning, they came into our room and I told them Santa had come. Max very adamently told me he didn't! He didn't come say hello to Max & Emily, and they didn't hear the jingle of the reindeer bells, so he COULDN'T have come! LOL Once they got downstairs tho and saw that Santa left the fireplace gate open, ash footprints on our carpet that lead to the empty plate of cookies & carrots, they were shocked! Then they just TORE through all the presents! Father-in-law, Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law arrived around 9:30ish to share the morning and have breakfast as well. Then around noon we went to Grandma's house to open her gifts. Then around 2ish we went to Grandma's restaurant where they proceeded to open even more gifts from hubby's extended family who were all there. It was an incredibly overwhelming day for them! I ended up having to make 3 piles of toys! One they could keep for now, one they could keep for later and one that was going back to be returned or exchanged. I'm sure the exchanging will take me a month or so to do. *sigh*
Other then that, they had a great Christmas. And so did hubby and I. I got a newer faster computer, a swiffer-vac and a hand held steam cleaner! Woohoo! Hubby didn't get anything near as fantastic. Clothes, a couple books, movies etc. Told you I didn't do so good this year.
Our New Years Eve, consisted with us going out as a family to dinner. We were supposed to go to Red Lobster, but turns out there was over an HOUR wait at 5pm! *shock* So we ended up at Ruby Tuesdays. We were gonna take the kids to Barnes & Nobles to spend their gift cards, but they closed early too. So we wound up back at home. Nothing exciting for this new years.
And now we're back to looking for a new house. We put a bid in on two of them and they both fell through. One cuz of the sellers and one cuz we were outbid. But ironically the one we were outbid on fell through and we have yet another bid on it. Not sure what will come of it tho. Is it fate that it's stayed on the market for us again?? Guess time will tell. I'm sure these next few months will be crazy. Trying to sell our house, buy a house, move, pack & unpack. Sounds absolutely nuts to me. And all has to be done by or before the kids bday in march. YIKES! Is that even possible? I'll let ya know.
