First day of KINDERGARTEN!!!!

I can't believe it. It's really here. My twins first day of kindergarten. And like most things, it's come and gone. hehe! But I'll give ya the run down.

We've been talking about Kindergarten and how much fun it will be all summer. Max a few months ago was NOT so keen on the idea and would curl up into the fetal position and just be sad and/or cry. But he did eventually GET excited! Of course he was still nervous! Who wouldn't be starting a new school with no friends that you know!?! But they did great!

They woke up at 6:48am. That was 7 minutes before my alarm was set to go off!! hehe! They were definitely excited! We'd been practicing the routine for a few days, so this was the real thing! We took showers (which we won't do every day) and then got dressed in our brand new outfits! New everything from undies to shoes! Then they ate a nice big pancake breakfast made by their father! Then back up to brush their teeth and do hair. In the meantime, both hubby and I are switching off trying to finish off getting their lunch packed. Emily had a cut up hot dog with ketchup, applesauce, goldfish crackers and a bottle of water. Max had a cup of soup, saltines and some cut up cantaloupe, along with a little bottle of soy milk. (Max ended up eating well, whereas Emily just nitpicked at her lunch. )

Once that was all done, we got them outside for pictures. Can't forget pictures!!

Then we got in the car and drove to the school. Of course parking was outrageous! We had to walk across the street to the school then up to their respective class lines. They gave each other a hug goodbye *cry* and they were off to their separate classes. I went with Emily, hubby went with Max. Emily was impatient and just was ready to go inside and start the day! Max was more patient and still nervous, but still all smiles. He even made a new friend in the boy that had stood behind him. They eventually were taken in to their classrooms and started their day. I was ok til that point. I started sobbing. :( My babies. Emily didn't even look back. And Max was all smiles going in - thank goodness! I'm so proud!

When I picked them up at 1:15pm they again were all smiles and telling me how great it was. Max left screaming "I LOVE KINDERGARTEN!!" and Emily kept telling me "it was a blast!" hehe! So that eased most of my stresses. They said they are definitely ready to go back tomorrow! :)
